I had a great experience at the hotel, especially considering the value for money. The staff were super friendly and made us feel right at home, while the location was perfect for exploring the local area.
Menu for breakfast could include some fresh fruit options.

review: The Riverside Hotel offered a pleasant atmosphere with clean, spacious rooms and great tea/coffee facilities. The shower had excellent pressure, and the location near the charming river enhanced my experience. Breakfast provided decent portions, though some items could use improvement. Staff were notably friendly throughout my visit. , rating: 8, date of stay: 2023-09-12}

The room was spacious with lots of tea and coffee supplies, a nice touch. The pressure in the shower was fantastic, and the bed, though made of two singles, provided an enormous and comfortable sleeping space.
The parking situation was tight. The breakfast was a bit hit-or-miss-while the full English was enjoyable, the eggs were undercooked on my visit. The common areas had a stale odor, and the carpets were definitely due for replacement. The noise from the bar area could be disruptive late into the evening, so don't expect total peace if you're near the action.

I loved the room with shower. The location was comfortable and great riverside for traveling around Monmouth, just next door to shops and pubs, lovely Monmouth and a beer garden, numerous large screens to watch the footy. Moreover, Shire Hall was a 10-15 minute walk from the place.

Absolutely fabulous staff - made me and my partner feel very welcome. Problems with the room as we had booked a double, but ended up in a twin. The manager was very apologetic and was prepared to reduce the cost of our room. The hotel is undergoing some refurbishment and I can only assume that the changes made will make the hotel even more appealing to travellers looking to stay in/around the Monmouth area. The hotel is just outside the town centre, so is ideal for those not wanting to be in the hub of things.

The friendliness of the staff to customers, but also the fact that the staff did genuinely seem to enjoy working together. It gave the hotel a friendly and relaxed feel.
The bathroom we had smelt of mould and needed a revamp. Also I didn't think it was good value for money and breakfast was not included in the price.
